Who We Are

Wightguide has been developed to bring more visitors to the island and to ensure that they make the most of their visit, to the benefit of all businesses who list with us across the whole island. As the team at The Royal, we saw a gap in the marketing of the island – an app completely free to users.

To ensure it is understood as something we are doing for the island as a whole and not for our hotel, we set up a separate company – Wightguide Limited – still formed by the team you may know at The Royal. The connection is clear and we are happy to be open about it, but the app has been created to represent the whole Island, not any single business.

The Royal will be featured within Wightguide in exactly the same way as other hotels, restaurants, attractions and accommodation providers. There will be no preferential treatment. The platform is designed to give fair and balanced exposure to all businesses who list with us across the Island.

Meet The Team

Mohamed is a forward-thinking entrepreneur and owner-director with a growing portfolio across hospitality, property, digital tourism and rural enterprise. His businesses include The Royal Hotel in Ventnor, Hyde Park IOW Hotels, London Choice Apartments, the WightGuide app, and a walnut farm in Turkey. Mohamed continues to invest in businesses that combine quality, innovation and long-term growth.

Matthew is a Director at WightGuide and a voluntary board member of Visit Isle of Wight, bringing strong insight into the Island’s tourism sector. Regularly on the Island and a passionate advocate for its visitor economy, Matthew has an extensive marketing and hospitality background, including senior roles across international hotels, and is owner-director of Hospitality Consulting. He is author of The Rise And Rise of ADHD.

Chantelle is Marketing Manager at WightGuide and a local Islander, passionate about creating meaningful relationships, supporting Isle of Wight tourism, its attractions and local businesses. With a broad background across marketing, business growth, web development, and brand presentation, she brings a practical, creative approach and is proud to represent women with autism in business.

Maria is Finance Manager at WightGuide and a senior manager at The Royal Hotel, where she has been part of the team for over 15 years. Having worked her way across almost every area of the hotel, she brings a deep understanding of hospitality, operations and guest experience, alongside a genuine passion and fire for the Island. She is also known for selflessly championing the women around her, celebrating their achievements.

Haris is WightGuide’s app developer and Co-Founder of CodeSwifters, bringing strong technical expertise across mobile app development, web development and UI/UX design. With experience delivering apps and digital products across multiple industries, Haris combines clean, scalable development with a thoughtful approach to user experience, helping turn the WightGuide idea into a practical, easy-to-use app for visitors and Island businesses.
